16 Days of Activism to End Domestic Abuse

25 November – 10 December

Domestic abuse can affect anyone – regardless of age, gender, sexuality, or background. It includes physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, and financial abuse. Every year, millions of people experience domestic abuse, and sadly, many suffer in silence.

The 16 Days of Activism is a global campaign running from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day). This year, we are proud to support the #KnowSeeSpeakOut initiative, which encourages everyone to:

  • Knowwhat domestic abuse is and how to spot the signs.
  • See what action you can take to help.
  • Speak Out by signposting people to support services.

Why this matters

  • 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.
  • The police receive a domestic abuse-related call every 30 seconds.
  • Domestic abuse is not just physical – it can be emotional, financial, or coercive control.

How you can help

  • Learn the signs: withdrawal, unexplained injuries, controlling behaviour.

If you need help

You are not alone. Help is available. Together, we can end domestic abuse.
